Full tube trains, expensive cab fares, traffic, and crowds of people – it’s enough to make the sanest person dread having to go to the office every day. The daily commute twice a day adds to one’s already-heavy stress load.
To counter this, by the end of 2020, fifty percent of UK residents will be working remotely. Some opt for the comfort of their local coffee shop, others from a mobile desk at the beach. What happens though when those countless frappes start adding up, or winter sets in, and you have to trade sun and sand for an alternative ‘office’?
Have you thought about a garden office? A space close enough to home, it is home, but still far enough away that you have to get out of bed to go there? If not, we’re about to share some of the benefits of constructing a small, relatively inexpensive workplace right in your back garden.
Some of you may be asking, “Why do I have to up?” or “Why can’t I work from the comfort of my bed?” The simple answer is: getting out of bed and getting dressed gives you a purpose for the day.

They come in a variety of shapes, styles and are easy to self-assemble, so you’re bound to find one that will fit into your space and add value to your property.
Once the building is up, the fun starts – you get to decorate your space the way you want. You can be bold with colour, put a photo on your desk or sit on a Pilates ball instead of a conventional office chair. The choice is yours!

If you have a larger space, you could construct a larger building that could house not only your office but also possibly space for a comfortable chair, a book, and something to drink after another ‘tough’ day at the office.
If you’re an entrepreneur, you may employ additional staff to assist you as your workload increases. An advantage of a log cabin construct is that, as time progresses, you can add extra rooms to the original building. Your colleagues can customise their space too, which means they’ll be happy and productive – just like you.
